SERdistiller is an intelligent knowledge
management application that accelerates the flow of
information throughout the organisation for competitive
advantage. As incoming mail is received, SERdistiller is able
to capture the scanned image, recognise the content, and
distribute it to the appropriate knowledge worker within the
organisation for processing or action. Similarly, incoming
e-mails or web site inquiries can be automatically classified
and forwarded within seconds.
SERdistiller replaces the manual effort -
and the corresponding cost and time - associated with
classifying and indexing every document that goes into an
imaging or knowledge management system. It streamlines
business processes and delivers enormous returns on
investment.
Better Quality Than Manual Methods
An individual with subject matter knowledge
first trains SERdistiller using initial samples, called a
‘learn-set’. The application then classifies and extracts data
fields based on what it has learned. The learning process can
be modified, refined, or extended to further optimise the
process. The end result is a consistent and high quality
document classification and information extraction – superior
to manual methods.
Beyond
Forms Processing SERdistiller works with all document types,
from rigidly structured forms; to loosely structured
documents, such as incoming invoices and credit notes; to
completely unstructured documents, such as letters,
correspondence, or even extracts from a novel. It is
SERdistiller ’s ability to enter and process this broad range
of document types into a system without the cost and time of
human intervention, that makes this breakthrough technology
such a powerful solution.
Scalable
SERdistiller
provides incredible throughput. A single Pentium computer will
classify up to 10,000 documents
per hour, without OCR. If significant optical character
recognition is required, this becomes the limiting factor on
throughput and then typically 600 pages are processed per hour
on a single computer. However, multiple computers can be used
for higher quantities.
